I’ve tried out several email subject line generators so that you don’t have to. I’ve tried the most popular AI email subject lines engines including: Encharge, Coschedule, Yet Another Mail Merge, Omnisend, Copy AI and Hoppy Copy.
Almost all of them turned out subpar email subject lines that I wouldn’t expect anyone to click on or, what’s more, they generated very few email subject lines to choose from.
Hoppy Copy was the true contender.
Hoppy Copy asked me to enter some of the text from an email that I wanted a subject line for. It allowed me to paste in quite a bit of text. This feature was rare among the AI’s I studied.
The most “research” those other AI’s would like to do would be to generate AI email subject lines based on 1 line or up to 50 words of an email. Certainly not the 2,000 character limit that Hoppy Copy has. That low amount of information wasn’t enough to go on. So, the email subject lines they generated were not as relevant as what I got with Hoppy Copy.
Let me attach below the email I wrote and pasted into Hoppy Copy and then I will also paste their suggested email subject lines. Judge for yourself whether the subject lines are any good.

These are just the first 15 headlines. It generated 25 AND it had a button offering to “generate more.”
It gave me so much to choose from, for which I am very grateful. And this feature comes with a free trial, so you can test drive how much you think it’s worth.
If you like it, the paid version starter pack is pretty affordable: about $23 a month.
No worries! With the free trial you can send some emails to your audience and study the open rates. If you get a LOT more open rates to some of the emails you use to generate sales it might be worth it to you to upgrade to premium once your trial is up.
If you’re still interested, I’ll explain some of the other benefits this service offers for subject lines.
For one thing the subject lines a pretty compelling. You may or may not like the emoji’s but those are easily deleted.
There are so many options. I haven’t pressed the “generate more” tool but I suspect that there’s no limit to how many options you’ll generate per email. It’s always nice to have many to choose from.
I also read that the AI has been “trained” using data from successful email subject lines of the past with large open rates. This would make the AI way more efficient at delivering DECENT email subject lines that actually have a greater likelihood to be opened. It has extracted lessons and analysis from the past.
You can also work with “batches” of emails you have to send out. Instead of getting stuck on the blank page, brainstorming, you can generate subject lines for multiple kinds of emails with a few keystrokes.
This stuff also has a built-in spam checker, adjusting the email subject lines so they don’t end up stuck in your reader’s spam box.
I was so happy with these email subject lines that I even checked to see if HoppyCopy can generate Headlines, too (they can!). I wanted to use other elements of the service.
Let’s talk about why you might not want to use Hoppy Copy: it costs money.
So, the decision would be for you to ask yourself if you feel like this service will generate for you more money than it takes away. Only you can answer that question.
Just remember, you can TEST this stuff. You can run a test to see if your “open” rate increases using these subject lines. And if opens lead to more money in your pocket, you just might appreciate this simple tool.
And, if not, let me recommend to you one of the free ones. Copy.ai is a reputable company (you can look them up). They have an email generator that will generate ONE AI email subject line based on a brief description of your email. It’s completely free and there’s no sign in required. There’s not a lot of subject lines options to choose from (just one) but that option is SOLID.
It can take ages to come up with a solid email subject line. There are so many variables to consider. You want to prop up the benefits of your work, but you don’t want to push people away with a hard sell or, God forbid, say something spam-like.
You may be hesitant to give this responsibility over to an AI. You may consider this an issue too sensitive for an AI to understand. But as you can see from the email subject lines that Hoppy Copy generated, there’s a lot of subtlety to the text.
You an always just pick one email subject line and tweak it a little bit to fit your standards. And all of this is STILL a much faster way to generate your emails.
