Copy AI (Review): Everything You Need to Know

Are you a content creator struggling to find decent guidance in the sea of advice on blogging, social media, and advertising? Well, now there’s an AI designed especially for content creators. It’s called Copy.AI.

Using Copy AI tools you can, in a blip, fire away a new blog post or social media posts with MANY less headaches than content creators typically experience.

One of the most exciting too, which you’ll see, is to give Copy.AI snippets of your writing and have it turn that writing into a unique “brand voice.” As I explain in this Copy AI review, this will allow you to maintain a consistent voice across projects.

OR… Even turn your AI writing output into something unique and human and emotional.

That’s just ONE of the features uncovered in this Copy AI Review. Let’s dive in.

Most of What You Need for Free

All of the things I’m going to discuss are the features readily available in the FREE version of Copy AI. So you can start using it right away. I will briefly discuss the bonuses that come with the paid tier a little bit later. Just know for now, if you’re anything like me you’ll find that you can accomplish almost anything with the free tier. You may not even want to upgrade.

Copy AI Review Insight #1, Save Time with Templates

Right on the first page it suggests using some from its template library.

In case you didn’t know, Copy.AI has a library of partially complete prompts. The benefit of this is that you don’t need to know any advanced prompting skills to get a detailed and decent results because most of the details of the prompt structure are already filled in.

Copy AI designed it to help you make the best communication and marketing materials that you can.

There’s dozens and dozens of templates from standard email communications, to prospecting for new customers, to creating content (such as blog posts) to keep those customers engaged, to creating a “brand voice” to hook in your customers and set yourself apart from the competition.

In the interest of not turning this review into the length of a book, let me just demonstrate for you a couple of their core features and you can see if they’re good enough that you’re interested in trying out their other features.

Now, let me repeat, these features come in the free version (as do all of the templates) so, if you’re inspired, you can play with any of these things yourself.

The “Brand” Voice Tool

The “Brand Persona” tool discovers your brand’s unique personality, helping you define its voice and tone. This newfound clarity will transform all of your content, creating a consistent brand experience that resonates with your target audience.

I decided to feed Copy AI about 3 of my previous writing projects that I felt had the most “personality” and style. Then it computed a persona for me to use to rewrite any of my posts in that same style.

Now here’s the previous 2 paragraphs rewritten in my new “brand persona”:

If you’re anything like me, you know that creating a consistent brand experience is crucial in today’s competitive market. But, how do you truly define your brand’s voice and tone? And, how do you maintain that identity across all your content pieces? That’s where the “Brand Persona” tool by Copy AI comes in.

I recently stumbled upon this amazing resource, and it has been a game-changer for my brand. By feeding Copy AI with three of my previous writing projects that I believed had personality and style, it computed a persona that I can use to rewrite all my posts in that same voice and tone. It’s like having a trusted friend who’s done all the research and is eager to share their findings.

So, it doesn’t have a hugely original tone. It’s not “out there.” But sometimes subtle is good. You’re more likely to listen to this person than a used car salesman or some pretentious writer who exhibits a lot of wittiness but lacks in self-awareness.

This is a persona I could use for even person to person email. But it’s a little underwhelming. I could try feeding it more “exciting” writing examples.

But this is still very good because, well, it doesn’t SOUND like AI wrote it. It would be great to use to humanize text I wrote with AI.

Now I’m going to try out their blog post template. I firmly believe that if Copy AI can do blogging right, then I can probably trust other templates to churn out quality as well.

So, I headed over to the “workflows” tab and clicked “write blog post.” Then, I gave the AI the “input” of THIS post. Yep, I actually tasked Copy AI with rewriting this very blog post, a review of Copy AI. I thought it would be fun. Here’s the exact prompt:

Write a review of copy ai and whether to use it or not. Include strengths, weaknesses, and price point.

The first thing I noticed was the time it took to get this result. It took a couple minutes for it to load! Apparently that is an issue with this AI. Something to keep in mind.

But let’s head on over to the results.

Here are some snippets of the blog it generated for me:

“When you first log in, you’re presented with a dashboard showing your generated content, settings, billing details, and more. The main interface for creating new content is focused on just a few key options:

Enter a content brief or instructions

Select a content tone and style

Adjust the word count

Generate the content“

[Ok. That’s pretty dull, irrelevant information.]

“Copy.ai produces content that is generally well-written and accurate. The AI seems skilled at taking a prompt and turning it into natural sounding long-form content.

Upon testing, the content it produced was free of grammatical errors and easy to read. The sentences flowed well and the vocabulary seemed appropriate for the topics I tested.”

So, this is very dull information but, to its credit, from the whole post I can see that there was a lot of detail. Which is important for a review. But it really can’t replace a real person’s experience.

I would say that I expect Copy AI’s templates to work OK. But they do need to be rewritten or put through a humanizer to add more “style” to the boring text.

If you’re particularly interested in which AI humanizer I would use, I did a review of them here.

Bonuses that come with the paid tier

Something you likely see discussed in other Copy AI reviews, what exactly comes with the paid tier? With the paid tier you get 200 “points” which will allow you to use more of Copy.AI’s features in the same day. Which is important for business owners who need to produce content in bulk. And the paid tier also grants access to their online community for networking.

Ready to Begin?

Here’s the exciting part: Copy.AI offers a free plan to get you started. So, ditch the blank page frustration and embrace the future of content creation.
